JSHS marked the Grand Opening of G.S. Memorial –An Inter school festival(18.10.19)

The sprawling campus of Jesus` Sacred Heart School, DX-1, South City, Ludhiana wore a festive look filled with fanfare and zeal on 18th October 2019 as the school celebrated the first day of its Annual G.S.Memorial-inter school multi-event extravaganza which is being conducted for the 8th consecutive year. More than 4500 students from 40 schools across the city participated in the carnival to exhibit their adventurer and dazzling display of activities encompassing sports, academic, creative and co-curricular events. This multi- event kids festival is designed for the students of Grade (I-V) to participate in the different areas in cultural, sports, co-curricular events and is extended for Grade (VI&VII) in the area of sports.

The opening ceremony commenced with March Past by participating teams, Flag Hoisting and Oath taking ceremony. The Directors of the school, Pawandeep Singh and Ramandeep Singh took salute from the marching contingents of various schools. Director, Pawandeep Singh extended a heartiest welcome to the esteemed gathering and laid stress on the value of sports and creative activities to enhance the holistic development of the students.

The spectacular fiesta started with a welcome dance seeking the invocation of almighty- a supreme power. It was followed by outdoor activities like athletics and a display of Eco School plan and Battle of expression (Nukkad Natak).

The stage and indoor events related to academics, cultural and co-curricular activities like Pupil Teacher Show, Immortal Melodies  Apocalypse Art and Ludhiana inside out were the centre of attraction and students left no stone unturned to excel. Every performance was unique and divine. The highlight of the event was Athletics which had maximum participation and students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The Prize distribution was done by the Chairperson of the school, Amarjit Kaur Sehgal along with members of the Management. The winners of Basketball girls (I-V) were Jesus’ Sacred Heart School and Basketball boys (I-V) were Baba Isher Singh Public Sen. Sec. School. First runner position for basketball girls (I-V)  was bagged by Baba Isher Singh Public Sen. Sec. School and in basketball boys (I-V)  was bagged by Jesus’ Sacred Heart School. In football Girls (I-V), Jesus’ Sacred Heart School emerged as winners and Nankana Sahib Public School (Kila Raipur) emerged as 1st runners up. In cricket (VI-VII) B.C.M. School (Chd. Road) held the overall winning position and B.C.M. Arya Model Sr. Sec. School was declared first runner up.

All the winners were on cloud nine and in a jovial mood celebrating their big wins after giving a tough fight. All the teams could be seen in full gusto for each and every event/sub event to compete for the Overall Trophy. There was a spirit to the event, an ethos that was contagious. Everyone left the campus on a positive note and energy where they promised themselves to come and give a tougher fight on the next day, the finale, wherein overall winner of the event will be declared as well.
