“Winning is not everything, but making the efforts to win is.”

The Annual Sports Day (junior) of Jesus` Sacred Heart School, south city, Ludhiana was held on 9th of February 2019 in the sprawling grounds of the school. The whole playground was decorated with flags, buntings and balloons. Chairperson, Amarjit Kaur was the chief guest. A genial and reverential welcome was accorded by the Principal of the school, Kirti Sharma to the dignitaries. The event commenced with the March Past commanded by Sports captain. The house captains, vice captains, the flag bearers led the contingents of the four houses Gandhi, Nehru, Tagore and Tilak .It was a treat to behold the contingents marching with royal and synchronized strides. The Director of the school, Pawandeep Singh took the salute and then the oath ceremony was held and the event was followed by the hoisting of the flag declaring the sports meet open.

An electrifying dance performance was a real treat to the eyes.  After that an array of races like flat, umbrella, fish, rabbit race with carrot catered the applaud of the parents as spectators. The gathering witnessed another sound of high voltage track and field events like crossing the tunnel, pick the golden egg, drag the ball with hula hoop. Balance race was an epitome of perfect equilibrium performed amidst thunderous applause by the gathering. Fun games of parents charged the atmosphere.

In the prize distribution ceremony, the students were felicitated by the Chairperson and the Principal for their excellent performance in sports activities. An eye soothing ketchup dance was performed by the students. Director of the school, Pawandeep Singh was happy to observe the untiring efforts invested by the school to achieve excellence in all spheres of education and personality development of the students. He congratulated the achievers for their commendable performance in sports and academics and urged to equip themselves with versatile talents to take on the challenges of life.
