                                  JSHS CELEBRATED ANNUAL SPORTS DAY(SENIOR)
“ Winning is not everything but making the effort to win is.”
Annual Sports Day is an important event in the life of every school. Sports themselves have a vital role in making a child sound  physically as well as mentally fit. The much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on 5th February 2020 with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere in Jesus Sacred Heart School, DX-1, South City, Ludhiana.The students of Grade II-VIII participated in the athletic meet. It was a day filled with fervour and exhilaration, amidst thrills and cheer. The Principal Kirti Sharma, welcomed the dignitaries and laid stress on the importance of sports in a student’s life in her welcome speech, followed by a brief report of the sports activities and achievements of the school. The ceremonial torch was followed by the spectacular, impressive and well synchronized March Past by all the four Houses. The young  and sporty students were felicitated who were State and National level champions in various fields of sports.
Director of the school, Pawandeep Singh presided over the oath taking ceremony and declared the sports meet open. This was entailed by the races wherein the participants participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. It was a delight to see the excitement with which the students challenged themselves to attempt a variety of races such as tunnel race, blindfolded race, cone and ball race, crawling race, relay, tyre race etc. The school playground rimmed with flags and balloons reverberating with the sound of cheers made everyone’s day. The athletes of grade V-VIII  were agile and swift in races (100mts and 200 mts).Hurdles race was a treat to the spectators. Medals were distributed to the students and new talents were noticed. It was really commendable to sustain excitement throughout the sports day! Director of the school addressed the gathering by saying that Sports is not just about winning. It is about building interpersonal bonds and often has elements of wishes fulfilled, not to mention elements of camaraderie and above all, participating for the honor of sports, the glory of the game and the spirit of sportsmanship.
