Grand Opening of G.S. Memorial – A Spectacular Inter-School Festival (20.10.2023)

The sprawling campus of Jesus` Sacred Heart School, DX-1, South City, Ludhiana wore a festive look filled with fanfare and zeal on 20th October 2023 as the school celebrated the first day of its Annual G.S. Memorial-inter school multi-event extravaganza which is being conducted for the 12th consecutive year. More than 6000 students from 50 schools across the city participated in the carnival to exhibit their adventurous and dazzling display of activities encompassing sports, academic, creative and co-curricular events. This multi- event kids festival is designed for the students of Grade (I-X) to participate in the different areas in cultural, sports, co-curricular events.

The festival’s grand inauguration set the stage for an exciting journey, commencing with a magnificent March Past by participating teams followed by Flag Hoisting and Oath taking ceremony. The Directors of the school, Pawandeep Singh and Ramandeep Singh took salute from the marching contingents of various schools. Director Pawandeep Singh extended a heartiest welcome to the esteemed gathering and laid stress on the value of sports and creative activities to enhance the holistic development of the students. A mesmerizing welcome dance performance captivated the audience and set the tone for the festivities to come.

Students were encouraged to explore their talents in various domains, with stage and indoor events dedicated to academics, cultural, and co-curricular pursuits. The outdoor activities like athletics and a display of Architecture wonders were the real treat to the eyes of the spectators.

The stage and indoor events related to academics, cultural and co-curricular activities like Clay Art, Funky Fridge Magnet as a piece of art, Fruit Delight as cooking without fire, Rhetoric Rumble & students left no stone unturned to excel. Participants had a multitude of opportunities to exhibit their skills and passion in the cultural extravaganza.  Every performance was unique and divine.

The festival reached its pinnacle with the heartwarming prize distribution, where winners of sports and co-curricular events were felicitated for their outstanding achievements. The Prize distribution was done by the Chairperson of the school, Amarjit Kaur along with members of the Management. The winners of Basketball girls (I-VI) were Sacred Heart Convent School, BRS Nagar and Basketball boys (I-VI) DAV, Pakhowal Road. First runner position for basketball girls (I-VI)  was bagged by Jesus Sacred Heart School and in basketball boys (I-VI)  was bagged by BCM, Arya Shastri Nagar. Girls (I-VI), Drishti DR RC Jain School emerged as winners in football boys & girls catregory. NSPS, Kila Raipur emerged as 1st runners up in girls category and Millennium World School.

The atmosphere was brimming with excitement and a jovial spirit, as students, teachers, and parents celebrated the talent and hard work of the participants.

G.S. Memorial is not just an event; it’s a celebration of young talent, teamwork, and the joy of learning. There was a spirit to the event, an ethos that was contagious. Everyone left the campus on a positive note and energy.
