The Annual Function, showcasing the theme ‘A Voyage – an ethnic journey’ was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm on Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Jesus’ Sacred Heart School, DX-1, South City, Ludhiana.
The students of Grade II to XII presented the scintillating show. The celebration commenced with the lighting of the lamp amidst the school song which echoed in the arena. The coruscating function was graced by Ms. Amarjit Kaur Sehgal, Chairperson, Jesus’ Sacred Heart School along with Directors of the school, Mr. Pawandeep Singh and Mr. Ramandeep Singh, Members of the management and other dignitaries from all walks of life. All of them were accorded a warm welcome by the Head boy and the Head girl of the school.
Director of the School welcomed the august gathering. Principal Ms. Kirti Sharma read the annual report enumerating the academic and cultural achievements of the students, briefing the audience about inter cultural learning, global exposure and the philosophy of the school.
The programme started by seeking the blessings of Almighty through ‘Hanuman Chalisa’. The vibrancy with which the cultural fiesta was conceptualized through props and dance captivated the audience. An array of scintillating dance forms of the countries of the world were shown with precision. Sufi dance of Turkey mesmerized the audience. Korean Fan dance, African Tribal dance was outstanding.
The dances of Spain, Japan and France mesmerized everyone and made the audience feel as if they were on a world tour. Play on Iran-Iraq war stole the show. The belly dance added great charm as enthusiastic students danced on the floor with grace and poise. The most riveting performance which drew an unceasing applause was the sports and aerial act which left everyone spellbound. Patriotism towards the country portrayed through finale dance on `Vande Matram` highlighting the loyalty towards nation.
Director of the school, Mr. Pawandeep Singh in his inspiring speech briefed the audience with the philosophy of the school, inculcation of life skills and value based education, global citizenship and plethora of activities conducted in the school. The school also honoured the deserving students with awards and appreciations in the field of academics, co-curricular and sports. The school has truly carved a niche for itself by inducing confidence, sense of responsibility and leadership qualities amongst the vibrant and the dynamic Students. The deserving teachers were also awarded with trophies. The day ended with every glittering star carrying a feeling of happiness and achievement within itself.
